[Like the rest of this site this section is incomplete and not very CV-ish but it does give you a general overview - This is now quite old. a full site rehaul is on the agenda]

I have just finished my MSci at UCL studying Astrophysics within Natural Sciences. My minor stream was Molecular and Cell Biology which I studied alongside Astrophysics till year 3.

>>> I am now enrolled for a PhD at UCL continuing the work i started on my master project<<<

My Masters Project was with Dr Giovana Tinetti and is focused on the methods of detecting molecules (like water and methane) in the atmosphere of extrasolar planets using current day instruments. I developed the python program EAMEPy as part of this project which you can read more about here. I won the Brian Duff Memorial Prize  for the Best 4th Year project in the department for this project and received a PhD offer at UCL to continue it.

My Personal projects involve developing and writing for the Apple News Technology Blog MacGazette and my Guide/Review site TechChoices.

As part of these projects i have;

  • Become proficient in the languages and markups PHP, Python, CSS 3, HTML5, Javascript (jQuery) and LaTeX through self learning
  • Learned to effectively manage and create my own projects
  • Run and maintain my own VPS webserver (running linux with WHM and cpanel)
  • Work with others and in teams on MacGazette and for my Masters project.
  • Analyse and modernise a small business by improving inefficient processes, implementing cost saving measures and designing a database system to replace an old paper storage method through my summer work for Select Financial Solutions North East.
